[About the Car] The M3 (E30) was BMW's flagship machine, competing in Group A touring car races from 1987 onward. This car competed not only in touring car races around the world, but also in Group A events such as the World Rally Championship and WRC. It took an impressive victory in the Tour de Corse in May 1987, beating rivals like the Delta. It also demonstrated high performance in the rally field. Based on the M3E30, BMW developed this car to comply with Group A regulations, featuring blister fenders on the front and rear, a wider tread, and a large rear wing for improved aerodynamics. It was also powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four DOHC engine.
